Train ride north!

I gotta say, the train system anywhere outside of the USA is always better. Ok, fine, maybe not in places like Calcutta but in most developed European countries and in the UK the systems seem to just work. On time, a nice snack trolley and working wifi! Are you listening NJ Transit!

Right now, I'm enjoying a 4 hour train ride north from London to Edinburgh. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking!

 

 

This London visit was very special for. Reason. A little backstory....

A little over 10 years ago I met a Brit while in Australia. In fact, we met each other on our very first day in the country. We tried to find a flat together with no luck. However, even though we ended up living in separate places, we managed to hang out regularly during our months in Sydney. Over 10 years later, many cocktails, tours, shopping trips, posh and not so posh dinners we've remained friends...great friends! So, as in life, one often finds themselves maturing from martini-hood to motherhood. As such, I got to meet my friend's beautiful and precious baby girl. It's been a long time since I've held a baby. I was nervous at first but after awhile that quickly faded away and I was just simply in love. The tiny hands and feet. The expressions and that funny sound she makes when she's sucking on her thumb. Adorable!
